Artists wanted to craft stage backdrop
J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation calls for entries from Idaho artists for next Ed Sessions event background
BOISE, Idaho – July 15, 2014 — The J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation is calling on Idaho artists to submit sketches for a new stage backdrop for the upcoming 2014-15 season of ED Sessions.
The Albertson Family Foundation — sponsor of ED Sessions — requests that artists submitting entries for the stage background live in Idaho. The winning design will represent four themes: Idaho, education, youth and quality of Idaho life. Design, color palette, look and feel, etc. are completely up to the artist. Past event stages can be seen on the ED Sessions Facebook page.
Sketches are due to the Albertson Family Foundation by 8 a.m., July 25. Once selected, final art of the winning design is due Aug. 20. The final design — 11 feet wide by 9 feet tall — must be digitally transferrable (.ai, .tiff or .eps). The winning artist will be compensated $1,500 upon completion.
The ED Sessions is a monthly speaker series that focuses on transforming education in Idaho. The events resemble TEDx and have played host to speakers including Mike Rowe, Sal Khan, Sir Ken Robinson and Mark Ecko. Speakers are sometimes edgy or controversial, but always bring a new perspective on innovation, grit and education.
Please email design submissions, with your name, company name if applicable and phone number, to Albertson Family Foundation Communications Officer, Jennie Sue Weltner, JSWeltner@www.jkaf.org, (208) 424-2640.
