The Foundation

The J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation is a private, family foundation, committed to the vision of limitless learning for all Idahoans.   The Foundation invests in large-scale initiatives in three focus areas: 1) LEARNING INNOVATIONS; 2) AWARENESS; and 3) COMMUNITY INVESTMENTS.

LEARNING INNOVATIONS initiatives include:  

Khan Academy in Idaho – the nation’s first statewide pilot of Khan Academy, the world’s leading online learning platform, in K-12 classrooms throughout Idaho. The pilot seeks to understand how to successfully implement blended learning in the classroom.

The Idaho PTECH Network – designed to bridge the gap between high school and career through a collaborative network of high schools, colleges, and employers.

AWARENESS initiatives include:

Don’t Fail Idaho – a statewide public awareness campaign to inspire an informed and productive conversation about education.

The ED Sessions 2.0 – a speakers series featuring inspiring, fresh voices on the topic of 21st century learning.

Idaho ED News | Idaho ED Trends – a free, online source featuring award winning journalists offering news, opinion and data about Idaho’s K-12 public school system.

COMMUNITY INVESTMENTS include:
