Nationwide, virtual schools are popular and growing rapidly
Fact:
700,000
According to a recent online editorial by Bill Tucker, more than 700,000 K-12 students took virtual courses during the 2005-06 school year-almost double the estimate of students taking online learning courses just three years earlier. Idaho, similarly, has seen exponential growth in the popularity and enrollment in online education. Idaho now has five accredited virtual charter schools, the newest being iSucceed.
