CWI should explore innovative funding options

March 9, 2008 - Jerry Hess - Just over six months have passed since the trustees of the College of Western Idaho were impaneled, and after several personal inquiries by interested patrons, I desire to present a very brief mid-year report.  My pledge at our beginning was to attempt a successful execution connecting the three pillars of educational excellence - access, quality, and cost.  I refer to one example of my efforts on the above issues that has experienced some success embracing one component of this trilogy, information technology.  The state of the art in that industry will continue to increase exponentially, allowing almost ubiquious access, in multiple forms, through various delivery systems, to more learners, resulting in success in all three objectives.
