How to Prepare for Your Next Parent-Teacher Conference

Before your next parent-teacher conference, here are some questions to help you be more pro-activeat the meeting: teacher and student

  • What you might want to ask your child
  • What do you think your child might want to tell the teacher?
  • What subjects does your child like best? Least? Why?
  • Any problems they might have with another student?
  • Problems with homework?
  • Hearing or understanding the teachers? What you might want to ask your student's teacher
  • Your student’s strengths and weaknesses?
  • How can I help my student at home?
  • Is my student working up to his ability?
  • Does my student finish work that is assigned?
  • Does my student participate in class discussions and activities?
  • What is your homework policy?
  • What is the best way to communicate with the teacher after the conference?
  • If my student doesn’t understand the homeworkassignment, how can she get help after school?
