Idaho's online secondary school expands course offerings to meet student demand
Idaho Digital Learning Academy (IDLA), the state's public online secondary school, reports record growth in enrollments for 2006-2007. The school anticipates 5,100 students this year. Idaho's growth is representative of the nationwide growth in online learning.
IDLA has also added several courses this year to keep up with student demand. Chemistry, physics, trigonometry, pre-calculus, Advanced Placement biology, concurrent credit statistics, and college-level algebra and trigonometry are some of the new offerings this fall. Courses such as Spanish, history, psychology and English are also available.
Also new this year are a limited number of scholarships. IDLA offers students a flexible way to take credits and places a highly qualified teacher in every classroom.
IDLA's classes are a great option for students who want to make up a missed credit or work ahead or take college credits while still in high school.
IDLA has more than 65 classes available online for students in grades 7-12 for 2007.
Classes cost $50 to enroll for public school students. Homeschool students can sign up through their local schools to be eligible for $50 enrollment fee.
