Overview & Background
According to the 2008 Data Quality Survey Campaign, Idaho ranks 50th in the nation for its efforts to collect and report high-quality education data. We lack a unique statewide identifier to provide a uniform benchmark for our students — and we do not have college student-level enrollment or demographic information, nor do we have the ability to match individual students’ test scores from year-to-year to measure academic growth. As education reform efforts increasingly focus on preparing students for success beyond a high school diploma, the quality and accessibility of relevant data and information is critical.
