Private Schools
According to data from the U.S. Department of Education, private schools tend to have smaller class sizes, greater numbers of teachers reporting a high level of job satisfaction and influence over school practices, more demanding graduation requirements, and more students who move on to complete a bachelor’s degree (2002).
In Idaho, the registration, licensing and accreditation of private schools is voluntary (Idaho Code 33-119). There were 11,952 students enrolled in an accredited private school in the fall of 2007 (State Department of Education).
